Original Positive Sounds and Deepest Dub
Resonators are without a doubt one of the most powerful and highly regarded dub outfits in the UK, taking all the influences of original Jamaican sounds and riddims, and bringing it forward into the sounds of here and now.
Their debut album for Wah Wah 45s, The Constant, was released in late 2012 to huge critical acclaim, earning them the moniker of “British reggae at its best” from none other than the UK’s godfather of the genre David Rodigan.
Nearly three years on, and the album’s popularity hasn’t dwindled one bit, but as a band that are always looking forward they’re in the process of putting the finishing touches to their second long-player for the label, due for release in early 2016.
Live Show
The Resonators live show is hard to beat. This eight-piece band, and their touring sound engineer and special effects wizard, make new fans wherever they perform.
Fronted by two soulful and innovative female vocalists (Faye Houston and Kassia Zermon) they generate a sound which is equally strong and sweet, conscious and fun.
Resonators have not only supported acclaimed reggae artists including The Wailers, Horace Andy, Lee Perry and Fat Freddy’s Drop but have gained a strong following across the national festival and live circuit with their original, positive sounds and deepest dub, becoming favourites at festivals like Glastonbury and Boomtown along the way.
They are simply one of the finest live acts you’ll ever see, irrespective of genre.
As a live outfit they can rightly claim the crown of the finest dub reggae band in the UK, we saw this to full effect on our Bohemian Woods stage last year and look forward to another dose in July at Rhythmtree. Tom Headfunk (Isle Of Wight, UK)
